Today, my school goes on strike.

Yes, this is my first blog post here, but I'm not a big fan of formal introductions; they always end up weird. I'm going to jump right in. So, hi.
I'm a burger. Yup. A [Williams]burger.
My education is most likely waaay different from yours, your neighbors, and that kid studying for his AP test at the library's. "Going to school" for me means sitting at a computer -- yes, in a class -- while my little brother and sister have a nurf-gun war behind me. Williamsburg Academy is an online highschool, you see. It has, just like your school, real teachers, students, and work. Only difference is I can talk to those teachers, meet those students and go to my classes in my pajamas. I could sit here and tell you all about my classes, my teachers, my friends that live on the other side of America, the essay I'm procrastinating to write... But I won't. That isn't what this post is about.

You may have heard about this SOPA thing that really exploded today. Quite honestly, I don't know very much about it, though I have done some research and I know enough to have an opinion on it. SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) isn't cool. From my understanding, it's basically the gonvernment gaining more power to tell individuals what to do by making the internet unfree. That's right. NO FREE INTERNET. As you can imagine, my *online* highschool classmates and I are a little concerned. Sites like Wikipedia have shut down temporarilly to rebel, and petitions against the US Congress are everywhere. Though I hate this stupid SOPA thing, I'm loving seeing a bunch of "doofus" highschool kids on my facebook newsfeed going on strike against something so powerful. Stuff like that keeps me going in this crazy world, you know?

I promise, not all of my posts will be all political and about stuff a lot of teenagers wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. I do promise this blog will be whatever I feel like posting about...and today, I felt like posting about the strike against SOPA, so...yeah.
